Study of new material inspired by the structure of snake's skin.
I found the combination of super elastic skin and hard scale grows onto the skin is very interesting, and tried to mimic the snake's skin's form. I used several different elastic and hard material together and made some samples which has the elasticity but still has the function of protection, just like snake's skin.
The study of what is the function of snake's skin and how the skin and scale connected, and how the scale arranged on the skin helps to start making the material, but as I proceed, the study of characteristic of materials I'm using helps the process more. For example, normal stitch on elastic fabric makes the fabric non-elastic, thicker rubber is less elastic but solid.
